The day works through understanding each other's roles, personal strengths and weaknesses and how people's behaviour can affect others. It explores the preferred communication style of each team member and how to get the best from the team and individuals.
This helps to improve communications within the team, reduce potential frustrations and develop trust. We move on to design what success looks like with everyone's participation.
Focus can be placed on the key issues for the team. This might be an aggressive sales target or service level which needs to be achieved.
For each participant to:
- understand and apply the Empathy model
- recognise their own communication style
- read the personality style of others
- identify team strengths and weaknesses
- be aware of their value and impact on the team
- profile the perfect team
- set out and agree team ground rules, culture and values
- develop a set of team relationship strategies
- commit to change post workshop
The result will be increased self awareness and realisation of how individual actions impact on others. The team will have developed and committed to a set of actions, habits and behaviours necessary for excellence.

"After running the Empathy programme with my senior team at Actuate, I noticed the strength of the 'N' component amongst the group. We used to run a 3-4 hour unstructured monthly management meetings which were often frustrating for those involved. I changed the format, allowing 15 minutes per business area and started an informal, optional meeting, over dinner, for more creative discussions. BUILDING BETTER BUSINESS TEAMS
Setting goals for the team, understanding the strengths and weaknesses of the individuals and completing exercises to pull them together, to set and reach objectives for a successful team. A very business-orientated programme, which is participative, fun and clearly focused on business results.
CREATIVE TEAM BUILDING
A series of fun team building exercises to help a new team to work together and enjoy each other's company. We facilitate highly participative exercises with full debriefs on how the team performed and how they can use the experience in their new team.
TEAM ACTIVITY EVENTS
A range of team building events out of the office can be arranged and facilitated. From outward bound programmes in the country to outdoor team building games based from the office. Often more unusual days are designed to suit both the client's budget and time. We recently flew a management team to Scotland for a one day event in a Scottish castle with business facilitated "missions" along the way.
