Foundation Sales Programes
Sales for Non
Sales People
A two-day programme for people who need to be commercially
aware.
Consultants, engineers, trainers, customer service people,
managers – all of these people may have to perform
the role of salesperson at some time – opening a business
relationship, finding needs, making a presentation, handling
objections, negotiating and closing.
People who work in specialist or technical areas are often
the most trusted from a customer’s viewpoint. As such,
they are usually in the best position to make an additional
sale of a new product or service, or their time. And yet
we know that many opportunities are lost because the (non-sales)
person does not know how to capitalise on them.
Specific sales training
Without any specific training most of these people, unless they are naturally
gifted in sales, will not do a good sales job. This is primarily for two
reasons: they don’t know what to do, and they don’t want to do
it. They may even complain that they did not join the business to become
salespeople!
We understand why these attitudes may prevail and the challenges
that they face, both emotionally and in understanding the
sales process.
Sales confidence
This two-day programme gives non-sales people the confidence to have the conversations
that lead to more business. This begins with an understanding of the sales
process. They will then have the opportunity to develop and practice their
approach, so that it feels more natural to them. This in turn can affect
their attitude – so that they become more positive.
Essential sales skills
Essential skills included are: the five step sales process; the importance
of establishing rapport; structured questioning; converting facts into customer
benefits; turning objections into reasons to buy; basics of negotiation;
closing; body language; positive attitude.
Will it work?
YES. We have taught countless non-sales staff to become sales aware. This has
generated considerable amounts of business for our clients.
