1 to 1 Sales Coaching
Just as professional sportspeople use coaches to bring out
the best in them, so many salespeople also use coaches to
help them ‘raise their sales game’.
From time to time all professionals need to ‘bounce
ideas off’ someone else who has a different experience
and point of view. Sometimes they will be fortunate to have
someone in their own business who is willing to help; sometimes
they will need to seek ideas/support from someone outside
their company.
Whether it’s negotiating a particular piece of business,
working out a strategy for penetrating a large account, helping
a team create more activity or helping individual salespeople
to be more effective, we have a coach who can help.
Other typical sales situations include: how to prepare and
present a major bid proposal; getting organised to meet targets;
helping to balance managing and selling; and creating a sales
strategy.
Confidential, professional, effective
1-to-1 sales coaching is confidential: no one else in your
organisation need ever know that you’re being coached.
It’s professional – which means that the coach
works to a standard.
It’s effective – we can demonstrate that we’ve
helped salespeople to be more effective and successful through
our coaching.
How it works
Coaching sessions usually last up to 1½ hours. The
total number of sessions will be agreed between the individual
and the coach. The first step will be to agree what the ideal
outcomes are for the salesperson. Whilst the initial meeting
will, almost certainly, be face-to-face, later sessions may
be face-to-face, by phone or by email. Once an agreement
is in place, the coach will usually make him or herself available
for contact outside of the agreed session times to discuss
particular situations that may need attention.
Choosing the right coach
Sales coaches are chosen for their sales experience, as well
as their coaching ability. With each coaching request,
we work to understand enough about the individual concerned
and the situation that they face to be able to recommend
the right coach. We pride ourselves on being able to match
the right coach to the person who has asked for coaching.
A risk free approach
We then arrange a meeting between the individual and the
coach. Normally, the first half hour is not chargeable,
as it’s an opportunity for the individual to get
to know the coach.
If, after that, the individual is happy to continue to work
with the coach, then the rest of the meeting will be chargeable.
If, after the first half hour, the individual decides that
they do not want to work with that coach, then the meeting
is concluded and there is no fee payable.
The individual salesperson and the coach agree between themselves
how many sessions are required, for what duration and at
what interval.
